Marketing vs Advertising: What's the Difference

You may often find a lot of people to describe the difference between marketing and advertising. Although these two things are equally important, but they are very different. If you understand the difference and diligent research, the company was in the right path to grow.

Advertising
A paid announcement or persuasive message , public and non-personalized by an obvious sponsor. It could also mean a presentation or non-personal promotion conducted by a company for a product, which is intended for all customers or prospective customers.

Marketing
A planning, implementation, and systematic control of a group of business activity, which aims to unite all buyers and sellers involved in an interaction are equally profitable.

After reading the definition, then it is easy to understand how the difference, and why it can be confusing so many people. So we try to describe again clearly.

Advertising is just one part of a marketing process. This section is the part that covers the activities concerning the delivery of business messages, products, or services offered by the company. All that also includes the process of developing strategies such as placement, frequency of exposure, and others.

Advertising includes placement of an advertisement in various media such as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and Internet. Advertising is the most consuming part of the budget of most marketing activity. PR section is probably the second biggest budget-consuming, which is competing with marketing research.

The best way to describe the difference between advertising and marketing is likens marketing as a pie, where in the marketing pie slices are included advertising, research, media planning, PR, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and the community. Advertising is only part of marketing. All parts must work together and can not stand on their own to achieve the overall goal.

Marketing is a process that takes time and spend as much time to research and implementation of marketing plans in order to be effective. Marketing is all the things the company to facilitate all the interactions that occur between companies and consumers or customers.
