Which includes in this category are stalls, owned shops and traditional markets.
2. Modern Retail Stores
In modern retail stores, systems and rules have been made for the store operational. The amount of labor could have been more than 3, and all paid according to the rules that have been set. In modern retail stores, there are organizations which ensure smooth clarity of the operations of a store. Customers find and choose freely their own products they wants without the need to be accompanied by sales clerk. Included in this category are the Supermarket, Convenience Store, Specialty stores, and Shopping Mall.

2. Department Store
If Convenience Store is all available product to sell, the department store is a store that specializes in selling a particular product needs. Although it specializes in selling a particular product, but the number of products it sells very much. Known as a department store because the store is divided into departments where each department is usually the suppliers who rent space to sell her own merchandise or product using her own brand, named as a tenant. The clerk in each department is an employee-owned suppliers, does not belong to the store, so the payroll carried out by the tenant.
Examples of these types of stores such as the Metro Department Store. Metro Department Store specializes as a shop selling fashion products. In this store you can see all the brand clothes or other fashion. And all the fashion brands are arranged in such a way as to occupy each area specified by the store. So grouping is based on the brands that are present in the store, not based on functionality or usability. The clerk in each department store uses a different uniform. Why? Because they are in fact not an employee of the store, but is an employee who rents one department. So of course, because every department is a supplier that has a different product, then automatically the clerk has a duty to promote the brands that owned. And of course promotion strategies of each department would be different.

In Specialty sore, the store clerk is not owned by the supplier, but owned by the store, so they are paid by the owner of the store or the company. The number of employees was a little, usually only 3-5 people, although there are some stores that have a number of employees more than that.
b. Number of products .
The number of products owned by the specialty stores is much less than department store, depending on financial ability of the store, because in principle the owner of the store is buy a product to the supplier for resale in his shop. This differs from the Department Store which only provide a place alone.
c. Spacious store.
Usually the size of this store is smaller than other types of stores. It may even just measuring 3x4 meters.
d. Organizational structure of the store.
